According to the memorial sign, installed at the entrance to the cathedral, the beginning of the construction of the stone building of the temple began in 1356 on the site of a wooden Armenian church of the XII century.nIn Soviet times, the Armenian cathedral was closed due to the liquidation of the Lviv Armenian Catholic Archbishopric. On November 26, 1945, the archdiocese administrator was arrested. Almost all Armenians were forced to leave for Poland.
