Description

In 1962 a building project was developed. Designers were offered 256 options. The design of the architects Gerhard Kallman, Noel McKinnell and Edward Knowles was approved. Construction began in 1963, and ended in 1968. In 1976, Boston City Hall welcomed the Queen Elizabeth II of England.nThe building has nine floors. It is divided into three sections. The interior and exterior of the building is made on the basis of relations between US citizens and the state. The first four floors are accessible to outsiders. According to the designers, the building, made in the style of brutalism, shows the seriousness of the mayor. The building is monolithic, of concrete.nIn 2006-2008, complaints from citizens were sent to the working environment of the city hall and to its demolition or the construction of the city hall in another place.
