Description

The Bucerius Kunst Forum, located in Hamburg, invites its guests to enjoy an exclusive encounter with the classics of art. Four alternating exhibitions per year show, in a concentrated format, international art of the highest quality, from antiquity to classic modern art. The exhibition house in the heart of Hamburg dates back to the time of the Ebelin Foundation by Gerd Bucerius, which began promoting science, art and education in the 1970s and founded the Bucerius Art Forum in 2002. The aim of the Kunst Forum is to convey high quality art in new contexts and thus offer both art connoisseurs and newcomers an exciting and insightful visit to the exhibition. The focus is on a concrete theme, an epoch or an artist. One focus is on classical modernism with artists such as Frida Kahlo, Chagall, Miró, Picasso or Mondrian, but exhibitions are also organized throughout all eras. Children and young people up to the age of 18 can visit the exhibitions free of charge. Special family tours, which take place on Saturdays, give children and their parents new perspectives on art. The Bucerius Kunst Forum sees itself as a place of exchange and encounter in all areas of art. All exhibitions are accompanied by an extensive programme of events including concerts, debates, lectures, readings and poetry slams.
