The California Academy of Sciences is a scientific organization in the United States that exists as a large museum of natural history. Established in 1853. Engaged in research, exhibitions and education. A completely rebuilt new building was opened on September 27, 2008 at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The Academy conducts research in various fields of science, mainly anthropology, marine biology, botany, entomology, herpetology, ichthyology, invertebrate zoology, theriology, ornithology, and other sections of biology. Geological and environmental studies also have a long history at the academy, with particular attention to paleontology and biodiversity and systematics.
