Contemporary Art and Culture City Center named after A. Kuindzhi

The City Center for Contemporary Art and Culture named after A. I. Kuindzhi is one of the main exhibition centers of contemporary art in the city of Mariupol.nThe center was opened in 1962, when leading Mariupol artists turned to the masters of the fine arts of the country with a request to help in creating an art gallery. Thus, the city received many works of painting, drawing and sculpture. In 1973, the city allocated a building for the project, where the Exhibition Hall named after A.I. Kuindzhi was founded.nIn 2004, the Exhibition Hall was reorganized into the A. I. Kuindzhi City Center for Contemporary Art and Culture. In 2005, as part of the Center, the only in Ukraine Museum of the Medal Arts was created named after Y. V. Kharabet, an honorary citizen of Mariupol, a sculptor.nThe center has already prepared and presented about 250 expositions. The program combines traditional classical exhibitions, modern experimental photo exhibitions and exhibits of decorative and applied art. This formation of the exhibition material gives the opportunity to see the whole range of the palette of modern art, providing a widest slice of modern cultural life.
