On the two lower floors of the building there were classrooms, and there were dormitories (the bedrooms of other-city dioceses) on the third. After the closing of the school, a provincial orphanage was established here in 1921.nBy the time of the seizure of Mariupol by the Hitlerites on October 8, 1941, by the order of the occupying authorities, the entire Jewish population living at that time in the city was gathered in this building. Two days later, innocent people were shot. Much later, a sculptural composition was installed on the wall of the old building in memory of the Mariupol tragedy.nOnly in the fall of 1951, the historic building passed to the Priazovsky State Technical University: the doors of the renovated building opened to the students and teachers of the metallurgical institute.
