Etihad Stadium, sponsored by (since July 2011) of the City of Manchester Stadium in the English city of Manchester. Home Stadium Club Manchester City. The fourth largest stadium in the English Premier League and eighth in the UK.nThe foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Tony Blair in December 1999, and construction began in January 2000. As a football stadium opened on August 10, 2003.nThe Manchester City Club signed an agreement on the 250-year lease of the stadium with the right to rename it. In July 2011, the club renamed the stadium Etihad as part of a 10-year agreement with the main sponsor, Etihad Airways, an airline from the United Arab Emirates.
