The Engelssaal in Hamburg was already a theatre 200 years ago. In the 1990s, the building fell visibly into disrepair, but in 1997 it was restored to its former state through private investment and used again as a cultural space. But it was not until 2005 that it was revived as a theatre. The “Theater of light muse” has specialised primarily in operettas. This makes it one of the few private operetta houses in Germany with a repertoire programme. The repertoire includes classics such as “My Fair Lady” or “All Paris Dreams of Love” and presents light melodies that have become evergreens. When it comes to operettas – it is Hamburg’s top address.
