Its architectural appearance has changed repeatedly; it acquired a modern look in 1960-80. Today, the main objects of the square can be considered a monument in honor of those who died in World War II, made in the form of a 28-meter stele, and the Eternal Flame. In 1992, a memorial cross was erected in honor of the conqueror of Siberia Ermak.
