The building was built in 1897-1888 by the project of renowned Viennese architects Herman Helmer and Ferdinand Fellner, authors of the project of the Vienna Observatory, Odessa and Chernivtsi Opera Theaters. nFrom 1918 to 1939 a casino operated in the building. During the Second World War, it housed a youth recruitment center for hard labor in Germany.nThe interiors of the building were often used for filming, including the film “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers.”nCurrently, Lviv balls are held regularly in the House.
