Izmailovsky Park of Culture and Rest

Description

Izmailovsky Park of Culture and Rest is one of the largest parks in the capital, located in the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow. In the XVII century, in the territory of the modern Izmailovsky Park of Culture and Rest, dense forests were rich, rich in bird and beast. That is why Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich the Silent, a big fan of hunting, chose these places for his palace estate. Alexei Mikhailovich, following the then European enthusiasm for park art, arranged in his estate “Divine Gardens” with a wide range of plants – prototypes of Russian botanical gardens.
