May 23, 1965 The Palace for Children and Youth was officially opened, its construction lasted for three years. The building covers an area of ​​12,000 m2, has 3 floors, designed in the style of Soviet modernism, designed to visit young people of various circles under the leadership of more than 300 teachers and 200 employees. The palace was built according to the project of architects Abraham Miletsky and Eduard Bilsky, who were awarded the State Prize of the USSR for this work. Originally the building was called the Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren. At the meetings with children, here came prominent people, famous scientists, culture and sportsmen, including the president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Borys Paton, academician Nikolay Amosov, cosmonauts Yuri Gagarin, Valentina Tereshkova, Leonid Kadenyuk, writers Anatoly Davydov and Oles Berdnyk, and many others.
