Description

The exposition consists of a memorial part, and also represents the artist’s work from the time of study at the Krakow Academy of Arts to the last days of life.nThe Lviv National Museum has the largest collection of works by the artist in its foundations, and it has 500 preservation units, most of which were presented by his wife, Genya. Due to this remarkable woman, museum workers received an archive of the artist: letters, manuscripts, documents, and other materials that are invaluable for the study of Leopold Levytsky’s creativity and personality. It was she who stood at the center of the posthumous popularization of the name of Levitsky, and at the end of her life made a will according to which the creative heritage and the archive of the artist moved to the funds of the National Museum.
