The Maritime Museum is located in Barcelona, ​​in the Gothic building of the Royal Shipyards Drassanas, an architectural monument of the XIV century. The museum was founded on October 23, 1936 by the decree of the Government of Catalonia on the basis of a collection of ship models and navigation instruments of the Nautical School of Barcelona. The Museum presents latrine figures, navigational instruments, documentary evidence of the discovery of America, models of caravels and galleys, atlas of 1493, etc.nOne of the most important exhibits of the museum is a full-size replica of the Spanish Real Gallery, the flagship of the Sacred League fleet at the Battle of Lepanto. In addition, at the entrance to the museum you can see another interesting remark – the Ictineo I submarine (1859), the inventor of Narcis Monturiol.
