Monument to King Danil Galitsky

The construction of the monument was timed to the 800th anniversary of the birth of Daniil Romanovich in 2001. A national competition was organized and many artists and sculptors took part.nThe monument, weighing sixty tons of granite and nine – of bronze, is a statue of King Daniel in a military uniform riding a black horse in marching armor. According to the sculptors, the index finger of the Galitsko-Volyn prince is addressed to descendants: to keep and protect the legacy he left from the encroachments of any oppressors of freedom and faith.nThe monument itself, with a total height of ten meters, consists of a bronze horse sculpture and a high granite pedestal with a laconic inscription “King Danilo”
