The monument to Sviatoslav the Brave is the face of the history of the city Zaporizhzhia and Ukraine. 5-meter bronze monument is installed on one of the possible places of the prince’s death in 972.nPrince of Kyivan Rus Sviatoslav the Brave – grandson of Rurik, son of Prince Igor and Princess Olga, the father of Volodymyr the Saint, the grandfather of Yaroslav the Wise. The famous commander, who from 964 to 972 his military campaigns actually formalized the borders of the Kyiv state. In the spring of 972 in the unequal battle with a sword in hands, as befits a real warrior, the Kyiv prince Sviatoslav the Brave fell. There is an accurate information about his death at the rapids, and the rapids are almost 90 km from Dnipro to Zaporizhzhia.
