To the left of the poet’s figure there is a bronze “Wave of National Revival” – a twelve-meter symbolic stele with figured reliefs (1995).nIn 1988 a regional competition for the best project was announced, which did not bring the expected result: among the 40 teams of authors, no one was chosen. The following year a republican competition was held to no avail. Nevertheless, the Lviv City Executive Committee concluded a contract for the project with young Lviv sculptors Sukhori brothers. The construction of the monument coincided with the years of the formation of Ukraine, characterized by a severe financial crisis. The project of young sculptors was successfully implemented thanks to the help of the Ukrainian diaspora.
