Description

Monumental cemetery is a necropolis in Milan. One of the two largest cemeteries in the city, is considered one of the richest tombstones and monuments in Europe. Giuseppe Verdi was buried in the cemetery (a month later the remains were transferred to Casa Di Riposo in Musicisti also in Milan), Carlo Tenca, Arturo Toscanini, Alessandro Manzoni, Vladimir Horowitz, Anna Radius, Luca Beltrami, Bruno Munari and other prominent personalities.nThere is a Jewish section; Herman Einstein (1847-1902), the father of Albert Einstein, is buried there.
