Mtatsminda

Mtatsminda is a mountain in Tbilisi, part of the Trialeti Range. Church of St. David (Mama Daviti). According to legend, the ascetic settled here in the VI century. In the 19th century, a stone church was built on the site of his chapel. In memory of this event, the church holiday of Mamadavitoba is usually celebrated.nAround the church since 1929 (official opening) there is the pantheon “Mtatsminda” with numerous burials of prominent people of Georgia – famous writers, artists, teachers and public heroes.
