Museum of Theater, Music and Cinema of Ukraine

The museum was founded on January 30, 1923 as a museum of theater at the Art Society “Berezil”.nThe collection of the Museum began to be created in 1923 at the Berezil Artistic Association, headed by the famous reformer of theatrical art Les Stepanovich Kurbas.nIn 1934 the institution was reorganized into the State Museum of Theatrical Art of the Ukrainian SSR. The pre-war collection had about sixty thousand exhibits, a special library of about nine thousand volumes.
