Description

The Museum of Transport is a historical museum in Manchester (United Kingdom) dedicated to the preservation of samples of Greater Manchester public transport. Belongs to the management of public transport of the city. The museum has one of the largest collections of vehicles in the UK. Due to the small size of the museum building, part of the collection is stored in a different place, and the exhibits often change. Transport is also used during various events throughout the country during the summer months.nThe museum, owned by the transport department, was founded in 1977. It opened on Boyle Street in Chitam Hill on May 27, 1979. The work of the museum is provided by volunteers from the Greater Manchester Transport Society.nThe museum has about 80 buses, of which about 70 are on display. The remaining vehicles are being restored or transferred to another site to make room for other exhibits.
