Description

The New England Aquarium was opened in 1969 in the Boston Harbor. It includes not only the huge aquarium itself, but also a research and educational center, a Simons IMAX 3D cinema, a souvenir shop and a small snack bar. In the summer, boat trips to the open sea for whale watching are organized here. It is noteworthy that in its huge Oceanic tank, with a capacity of 76,000 liters, conditions that were created there were as close as possible to the natural habitat of marine animals. There are about 20,000 inhabitants of the underwater world of the Pacific reefs and Arctic ice. The aquarium staff often participates in rescue efforts for stranded marine mammals and sea turtles.
