Odessa Seaport is a major commercial port of international importance, located on the northwest coast of the Black Sea, in the southwestern part of the Gulf of Odessa.nThe construction of the port began in 1794. By 1905, the port basically acquired its modern outlines. In the summer of 1793, Joseph de Ribas was appointed head of the construction of the Hadzhibey fortress and the new port next to it. The Russian government attached great importance to the export of products of Novorossia and Ukraine abroad by sea through the Black Sea, for which the port was laid.
