The Parliament of Catalonia is located in the Ciutadella Park in the building of the former Arsenal. As early as 1027, there were shrines in the present Parliament building. Here the church convened meetings and conferences, and immediately the first Catalan legal code was announced. The building itself was built of stone, which was mined at the foot of Montjuic. It also houses the Museum of Contemporary Art.
