Description

The Pharmaceutical Garden is the oldest botanical garden in Russia, founded by Peter I in 1706. It has the status of monuments of history and culture of Moscow, monuments of landscape gardening art of the XVIII century and a specially protected natural area. The garden was founded by Peter the Great in 1706 on the northern outskirts of Moscow (in the Sukharev Tower): here was the Kremlin garden for growing medicinal plants – hence its name appeared.
