Description

One of the oldest squares in Kyiv. Archaeological research revealed that commercial settlements were here as early as the 4th century AD. It is known under its modern name from the 1st half of the XVIII century (although the post station on the Postal Square was built in 1846). In the 19th century, at the same time, there was also another name – the Nativity Square, from the Church of the Nativity of Christ located on it (destroyed in the 30s of the 20th century).
