Description

The Freedom Prospect is the central street of Lviv, one of the most beautiful and prestigious in the city, the center of business and cultural life. The architecture of Freedom Avenue intertwined features of secession and eclecticism, fueled by the historical styles of classicism, neo-renaissance and baroque. The total length of the avenue is about 350 meters. nThe even side of the avenue was formed from the left bank of Poltva, which until the liquidation of the fortifications was a swampy area, where were small houses of the outskirts and the leprosarium. On the territory where the monument to Shevchenko is now installed in the 17th — 18th centuries, small temporary theaters were erected. In 1787 in the church, located on the site of the current National Museum, the first stationary Lviv theater was opened.
