It used to flow into the Soroka River, here was the so-called military bath. Here the city nobility walked, there was a swimming pool, and a skating rink in winter. On September 14, 1845, a grandiose charity show took place here in honor of the Poltva flood victims. By the beginning of the 20th century, the Pelczyński pond had dried up, in 1921 it was completely buried, and by the time the park was laid, there was a cemetery in its place. The Park of Culture was founded in the Soviet period, in 1951, for the sake of which part of the graves were transferred, and the rest were destroyed. Fountains and arches above the entrance were built in the parterre part of the park, and the central alley went up to the Monument of Glory built later. Until 1965, an agricultural exhibition was operating at the top of the park.n
