Prior to the construction of a modern building in 1858, there were two theaters in this place, which were burned during fires. Previously, all theatrical genres were staged in Covent Garden, but later it began to specialize only in musical performances: operas, oratorios, ballets, concerts. The modern theater building is the third in a row located on this site. It was built in 1858 and underwent a major reconstruction in the 1990s. The hall accommodates 2268 spectators, proscenium width is 12.2 metres, height – 14.8 metres.
