People’s Artist of the USSR Yu. V. Nikulin took part in the bookmark of the building of the Sochi Circus.nThe building was built on the project of a group of architects under the leadership of J. L. Schwarzbrain in 1971 (for this work, architects and builders were awarded the USSR State Prize).nThe author of the masks on the frieze of the building is Sochi sculptor VI Glukhov.nThe hall can seat 2000 spectators. The modern circus building was built next to the old 1200-seat circus building, opened on July 16, 1955 and designed by architect A. Stelmashchuk.nDirector – Sergey Zhirkov.nPerformers at the Sochi Circus are: Valentin Filatov, Yuri Durov, Mikhail Rumyantsev, Oleg Popov, Yuri Nikulin, Irbek Kantemirov, Mstislav Zapashny, Igor Kyo, Alan Butayev, etc., as well as foreign artists from Bulgaria, China, China, China Romania, Yugoslavia, Mongolia and other countries.nThe circus performers regularly include stage artists I. Kobzon, L. Zykina, V. Leontiev, V. Abdulov and others.nIn addition to organizing concerts, the circus provides additional services: horseback riding, elephant photography.
