Description

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, its length is 1,825 meters, it crosses the East River Strait and connects Brooklyn and Manhattan in New York City. Construction of the bridge lasted thirteen years and ended May 24, 1883. The bridge cost 15.1 million dollars. The bridge carries out both automobile and pedestrian traffic and it is divided into three parts. The side parts are used by cars, and the middle, at a significant elevation, by pedestrians and cyclists. Today, the bridge remains a popular place for recreation and cycling for New Yorkers, and thanks to Hollywood films it is considered one of the symbols of the city.
