[fbl_login_button redirect="" hide_if_logged="" size="large" type="continue_with" show_face="true"]The Holy Cross Church on Podol is an Orthodox church built in Kiev on Podol in 1746-1748. from the west side of the Castle Hill at the expense of the residents of the Gonchary-Kozhemyaka tract After the fire, the church was rebuilt from stone in 1811-1848. designed by architect Melensky at the expense of residents of Vozdvizhenskaya, Degtyarnaya, Kozhemyatskaya streets. On the site of the modern church until 1811 there was a wooden parish church of Kozhemyatsky settlement on a stone foundation with a separate wooden bell tower. nThis church was three-fold and possessed characteristic of the Baroque era – cruciform at the base, with a faceted apse in the east.
