The house of the architect

Description

The house of the architect is a former mansion of the merchant Ryzhov (architect Velichko, 1912), built in the neo-Renaissance style. This is one of the few mansions of the city, almost completely preserved the original external and internal appearance. The facades are decorated with columns and pilasters of the Ionic order, a parapet with a sculpted frieze over the entrance and a figured balustrade.nIn 1917–1918, the Emergency Commission for Combating Counter-Revolution, Speculation and Sabotage worked here, and then the First All-Ukrainian Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, since 1934 it has been the House of the Architect.
