The Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Metropolitan Museum of Art (or “the Met”) is one of the largest and fourth most visited art museum in the world. Today, the permanent collection has more than two million works of art. In the Metropolitan there are a lot of different types of collections. Extremely large collection of engravings. The collection of Egyptian art is considered one of the most complete and representative in the world. Today, the Metropolitan is rightfully proud of its collection of impressionists and post-impressionists. The exhibitions of the Costume Institute, which is a part of the Metropolitan Museum, tell about many world famous designers and style icons. The annual show “Met Gala”, which is a very popular, if not unique, phenomenon in the fashion world, is held at the Costume Istitute.
