The Museum of Ethnography and Arts and Crafts

Description

The building stands out for its romantic interpretation of neo-renaissance motifs. The architect and builders actively used the textural features and color of materials: polychrome Nadrainsky brick, hewn Ternopil stone, majolica reliefs and metal forged grilles. The lobby, lined with polychrome tiles, decorated with panels of colored stone and the stained glass windows of the company “Tiroler Glassmaleray” from Innsbruck, was bright and expressively solved. The interiors and facade of the building were decorated with numerous works from the sculptural workshop of Marconi. The dome with a spire completes the building; Allegorical sculptural group is located near the base of the dome, which symbolizes the economic prosperity of Galicia.
