However thanks to the support of Mogilevtsev, the famous Kyiv patron of the arts, who gave 500 thousand rubles, the works of the architect were not in vain. Mogilyovtsev decided to build an institution worthily called the Pedagogical Museum instead of a “dangerous” public audience. The idea satisfied the authorities, and the work continued. nIn 1917, the Central Council was located in the building, headed by Grushevsky. nIn 1941, before the retreat of the Soviet troops from Kyiv, the Museum was mined with radio-controlled mines. The Germans were able to quickly neutralize explosives. Since 1982, the building has housed the City Master’s House.
