Description

The April Park was opened in 1865. The original name is Alexandrovsky. The garden occupied the territory of the ancient venue “Kabahi” (from the Persian name for the mast with a prize for winning the contest). There were trading pavilions in the garden, in particular, the cooling water kiosk of the Lagidze plant. In Soviet times, it was called the Garden of 26 Baku Commissars, the Communards Garden. In the lower part of the park a monument was erected in memory of the events of the revolutionary years. Dividing the park into two parts, Sapernaya Street was renamed in honor of one of the organizers of the Georgian Komsomol Boris Dzneladze, in 1929 a monument was erected to him.
