Description

Chrysler Building is a skyscraper of Chrysler Corporation, built in 1930, one of the symbols of New York. The 320-meter-high (1046-foot) building is located in the east of Manhattan at the intersection of 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue. For 11 months in the years 1930-1931, the building was the highest in the world. The building is an example of Art Deco architecture. The peculiar ornamentation of the tower repeats the motives of the design of caps on the wheels of the Chrysler cars of the time. This is one of the best examples of the Art Deco period in New York architecture, the most beautiful period in the development of the city.
