The museum is located in an old mansion, which was built between 1929 and 1931. It was open to the public on February 5, 2003. The collection is based on the private collection of spouses Antonio Boschi (1896-1988) and Mirieda Di Stefano (1901-1968). They were great connoisseurs of modern Italian art. The house, which now houses the museum, and the collection they donated to the city. For reasons of safety and preservation of the collection, it was not possible to preserve the former situation in which the couple organized the integrity of the small “city-museum”. The works represented in the museum mainly belong to the Italian artists of the 20th century. The collection includes painting, sculpture and graphics.
