In front of the building there is a monument to Schiller.nThe building is considered one of the most famous buildings designed by Schinkel. Outside the building is richly decorated with sculptures: on the gable are bronze figures of Tantalus, Erotov, Psyche. The figured bas-reliefs of Orpheus and Eurydice are on the southern facade in tympanum. On the northern facade are the figures of Dionysus and Ariadne.nDuring the Second World War, the building suffered: the outer walls were burned. From 1979 to 1984, in preparation for the 750th anniversary of the founding of Berlin, the building was under renovation.nIn 1992, the Konzerthaus was officially declared the home platform of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, which in 2006 changed its name to the Konzerthaus Orchestra.
