Kiev Planetarium – the oldest planetarium in Ukraine.nThe planetarium hosts lectures on astronomy, geography, and natural history. nKiev Planetarium is a division of the society “Knowledge” of Ukraine. The initiator of the creation of a planetarium in Kiev was Sergei Konstantinovich Vsekhsvyatsky – a famous astronomer, professor, head of the department of astronomy at Kiev University, a member of the presidium of the society “Knowledge” of Ukraine. nIn the 1970s, the authorities decided to build a special building for the planetarium. The implementation of this project was delayed – to a new place on the street. Bolshaya Vasilkovskaya, near the Olympic metro station, the planetarium moved only in 1987. In the new building, the “Big Tseis IV” apparatus was installed, allowing to demonstrate 6500 stars of the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
