Monument to Professor Obraztsov

Vasily Parfenovich Samples – a famous therapist. Professor of Medicine, an innovator in the field of diagnosis of diseases of the cardiovascular and digestive systems.nFrom 1888 – head of the department of the Alexander Hospital in Kiev, from 1891 associate professor, from 1893 professor of Kiev University. In 1904-18 he headed the therapeutic clinic of the medical faculty of Kiev University, which later, as the city hospital 22, was named after him.nThere is a legend that a character of a professor Preobrazhensky (from Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel) was inspired by Obraztsov, and the doctor Bormental – by Strazhesko.
