Museum of Georgian Folk Music

The Museum of Georgian Folk Music was founded in 1975, but it began its actual existence long before that, as it used to be one of the halls of the museum of theater, cinema, music and choreography. After the foundation of the musical instrument hall grew into something more, and the exhibits became crowded, it was decided to form a new, independent museum of musical instruments. The museum stores musical instruments of various time periods and regions. Ancient Georgian musical instruments make up one of the most valuable collections.
