At the beginning of the fateful events for Ukraine in the winter of 2013-2014, a group of museum workers and activists realized that the deployment of public protests gained a historical and social significance that understanding of freedom as a cultural and social value acquires unique manifestations in the modern history of the state. The activists of the group called for care for the preservation of unique testimony for the descendants and started educational field work in the barricades and in the media space, convincing that not every object that was in the epicenter of events, any phenomenon that arose during the struggle of citizens for their rights and freedom, every emotion, joy and pain.nThe main objective of the united initiative was to preserve the memory of the events and people of the EuroMaidan and the Revolution of Dignity, in particular by collecting testimonies, documents, oral histories and objects, and protecting memorial sites and objects.nSince January 2014, the Museum initiative Maidan / Liberty Museum has collected more than two thousand artifacts, documents, photos and verbal evidence.
