Description

The Picasso Museum is an art museum in the capital of Catalonia, which has more than 3,500 works in its collections, which relate primarily to the artist’s early work. Among the later works, the Menina series, consisting of 59 paintings — variations based on the eponymous painting by Velasquez, stands out. On March 9, 2013, the museum celebrated its 50th anniversary. This museum is the only one that opened during the life of the artist.nIn addition to paintings, the museum also has a collection of ceramics dating back to 1947–1965, which the artist’s wife presented to the museum after his death. Also here you can find a collection of printed graphics, a copy of each of which was donated to the museum by Picasso himself.
