Description

Potsdam Square is a historic square and a major transportation hub in the center of Berlin. Before World War II, Potsdam Square with the railway station of the same name, where many city transport lines intersected, was considered one of the busiest areas of continental Europe and a popular meeting place on the map of the political, social and cultural life of the city. It was totally destroyed during World War II and then left desolate during the Cold War era when the Berlin Wall bisected its former location. After 1990, the transformed Potsdam Square turned into a new landmark of the capital of united Germany and attracted numerous visitors to the city.
