Description

The Church of the Ascension is one of the oldest temples in the city, which was erected in the late XVIII – early XIX centuries. In its appearance, you can notice the features of baroque, pseudo-Russian style and classicism. The main relic of the church is a particle of the relics of Simeon Verkhotursky. Due to the fact that after the closure of the museum in 1926, the museum did not come to desolation like many other religious buildings. Divine services resumed in 1991.
