The Unity Tree

The “Unity Tree” installation, symbolizing the unity of Ukraine and the nation, decorates the Mariupol Theater Square. The art object was established on November 4, 2017. On each piece of paper from two sides there is an embroidery, typical to each region of Ukraine. They are put together in one place. Thus, the Unity Tree symbolically connected all of Ukraine in one place. A whole creative team worked on the Unity Tree. The installation was forged by Mariupol blacksmith Viktor Vasiliev. Then, within a month, six artists under the direction of Alexander Malakhovsky put patterns on the leaves. The tree itself is completely made of metal and covered with powder paint.
