Nikolai Vatutin – Soviet military leader, Army General, Hero of the Soviet UnionnThe mansion was built around the place where the parish Ascension Church used to be. The brick arch of the gates of the church manor has survived to this day as the entrance to the mansion. The house was built by Hungarian prisoners during the war. In 1999, during the renovation of the mansion, they found a note hidden in a masonry wall in an unusual capsule: “Memory: Kiev, 1948, February 10. This house was built by 20 people of Hungarian prisoners of war, this is their honest work. Who will find this note, reading, remember the work of the hands of a Hungarian man. ” On the reverse side of the note – the names of the names and professions.
