Description

The Arcimboldi Theater is an opera and ballet theater in Milan. Located at a distance of about 7 km from the city center on the territory of an abandoned Pirelli tire factory in the area known as the informal name Bicocca.nArchimboldi was built for 27 months due to the temporary closure of the famous La Scala Theater in December 2001 for restoration. The author of the project was Vittorio Gregotti in collaboration with architects Mario Bott and Elizabeth Fabbri. The theater building accommodates a two-tier audience with 2375 seats. The theater opened with the production of “La Traviata” by Giuseppe Verdi on January 19, 2002.nAfter the resumption of productions in La Scala, the Archimboldi Theater became an independent theater, but it works in collaboration with La Scala.
